I sit inside these four walls thinking Maybe no one taught me how To know what I’ve been feeling Not all feeling comes with reason Some I may be better without I lay in my bed with the light on Usually all by myself. My heart still beating faster I can’t tell if it will last or if my breath with catch itself There’s a lot you’re not saying. You can’t even look in my eyes. Your guard has been mismanaged And they called you mild mannered. Told from the time I was little Unlady like, loving and loud. Hard as I’ve tried It’s hard to keep it quiet. The rage keeps coming around. There’s a lot you’re not saying. You can’t even look in my eyes. Your guard has been mismanaged And they called you mild mannered. We’re Holding On… You’re guard has been mismanaged You’re holding on. They called you mild mannered You’re holding on. Now I’m outside the four walls burning Down from what they were before Ashes are hiding the violent lies inside That scattered the place you adored

Tongue Tied 03:56
A lie you heard. Remembered word for word. It told you you weren’t worthy of dreams. It compared you first and cut you worse And turned on you for being mean. You know the highs get higher now the lows get lower. The wider you grow the more and less you know. A whole lot to say. That you don’t know why But you’ve been tongue tied A long time. It takes a long time. I know. There’s beauty there. You know it’s everywhere. Why do I get scared of it? Your eyes, they shine in the darkest times. Why do I look away from them? You know the highs get higher now the lows get lower. The wider you grow the more and less you know. A whole lot to say. That you don’t know why But you’ve been tongue tied A long time. It takes a long time. I know. So remember you’re still standing. Lost, but not alone. The scars you hold will keep you From where you long to go. A whole lot to say. That you don’t know why But you’ve been tongue tied A long time. It takes a long time. I know.

You taught me patience. Taught me to yell. You taught me how to walk on eggshells. You held me tighter than you ever were held You let me fly and you caught me when I fell. Take off your rose colored glasses and see the world shines through scars and hot ashes You were ordinary, extraordinary wonderful things. You were ordinary, extraordinary dangerous things. Who you hating? No. Who do you love? It’s got more to do with how you feel about yourself So hear a story and a different point of view And break the system that’s been harbouring you. Take off your rose colored glasses and see the world shines through scars and hot ashes You were ordinary, extraordinary wonderful things. You were ordinary, extraordinary dangerous things. We’re all a little lost. Just try. We’re all a little lost. Just try. We’re all a little lost. Just TRY Take off your rose colored glasses and see the world shines through scars and hot ashes You were ordinary, extraordinary wonderful things. You were ordinary, extraordinary dangerous things.

Trying 03:45
There’s an alter at my bedside table. A lot that’s there try to keep me stable. You asked me to be fine. Since then I’ve been trying. Holding out on crying. Trying. People told her she was getting loud. That little one learned soon to quiet down. You asked her to be fine. And since then she’s been trying. Holding out on crying. Trying. Choose your lane and stay or you will lose. A lot of people fighting for something to prove. You asked him to be fine. And since then he’s been trying. Holding out on crying. He’s trying. He’s trying. He’s trying. Stop just for a moment. Think Just for a moment. Picture this whole world for a minute And imagine no one was alone in it. People together holding it Together just for one more minute. What gives you the right? To ask them to be quiet? Insist that they be fine… You’re not even trying Who’s freedom your denying You’re not even trying. You think it’s terrifying. You’re not even trying.

Buying Time 03:42
I put all my money in the wishing well. That spell went well spent as far as I can tell. So I walked home by a mourning dove. She said well love, are you proud of, and aren’t you tired of Buying time? I don’t need you to need me. But I’d love you, I’d love you to love me. And if I could let my guard down I’d tell you how far I fell but I’m just buying time. Oh your struggle is stubborn If you would stop running You would find… We’re just buying time

Cover your head. Cover your heart. They don’t need to see it. Cover your kindness. Cover your lungs. The sound of your life can’t breath if… Everybody’s game follows their own rules We’re all left lonely in our solo games for fools She said I’ll take a broken leg over heartache any day He said I'll keep my head in sand if I can still get paid They said please don’t spare me any of that pain Just turn me inside out. Cover your lies. Cover your truth. No kidding why we’re all confused. Sit up straight. Don’t be proud. Share your thoughts but not too loud. Everybody’s game follows their own rules We’re all left lonely in our solo games for fools She said I’ll take a broken leg over heartache any day He said I'll keep my head in sand if I can still get paid They said please don’t spare me any of that pain Just turn me inside out. Have you ever loved out loud? Have you ever fallen down down down? You ever caught yourself being way too proud? Come out honest, come out of shame No more preying on your pain. Come out kind, come out strong Coming out won’t be a thing at all. Everybody’s game follows their own rules We’re all left lonely in our solo games for fools She said I’ll take a broken leg over heartache any day He said I'll keep my head in sand if I can still get paid They said please don’t spare me any of that pain Just turn me inside out.
